2016 Scholarship Luncheon

The Bloomsburg University Foundation’s Annual Scholarship Luncheon was held on Sunday April 24 in the Kehr Union Ballroom.

Scholarship recipients had the opportunity to make a personal connection with their donors who invested in their futures and thank them for their generosity.

“Today's luncheon is not only an opportunity for us to say thank you, but it’s a chance for us to show you the impact you have made,” said David L. Soltz, Bloomsburg University President, as he addressed the donors and recipients in attendance.

In addition to hearing remarks from Dr. Soltz, and Erik Evans, Vice President of University Advancement, donors and recipients also heard the personal stories of benefactor, Jeffery Swoyer '74 and scholarship recipient, Boenell Kline.

Swoyer spoke about why investing in the future by creating scholarships is important to him. Kline who shared her personal story about the impact her scholarships have had on her BU experience.

Since the start of the It’s Personal Campaign in 2010, 110 new scholarships have been created and more than $5.1M has been distributed to thousands of deserving BU students. Each year, donors look forward to the chance to attend the Scholarship Luncheon to meet the recipients and learn about how the scholarships have impacted them and helped them along during their journey at BU.
