A Life and Legacy of Education

Bob ’68 and Sharon ’69 Reed

Bob ’68 and Sharon ’69 Reed have devoted their lives to teaching. They married as soon as Sharon graduated and began their careers in education; Bob as a high school math teacher, and Sharon in special education. Now both teach at Bloomsburg University as adjunct professors and after a lifetime as educators, it seemed only fitting for them to support BU students’ efforts to get an education.

Recently, they established the Robert and Sharon Reed Scholarship to benefit a special education or math major.

“We wouldn’t be where we are today without BU,” says Sharon. “The fact that we got our degrees from BU – it is personal – what you get from the college. It’s really important for every one of us to give so that opportunity is there for other students like it was for us.”
